All these places are full of color and history and they surprise people of all ages, Seville being unanimously considered one of the most beautiful cities in Spain.

The architectural beauty of its monuments, its more than 300 days of sunshine a year and its wide range of leisure activities make it a unrivaled city.

Our school Carlos V is located in a privileged location in the neighborhood of Los Remedios, only 10 minutes walking from the center of Seville and with the subway stop in front, as well as numerous bus lines that connect with all parts of the city.

Our classrooms have all the technical means and audiovisual means necessary to provide quality language teaching. Additionally, our facilities are designed to optimize learning with reception and waiting areas, student services area and exterior classrooms with great natural day light.

Idiomas Carlos  V Sevilla has been accredited by Instituto Cervantes, which means it meets the conditions set by the Instituto Cervantes Accreditation System for Centres, the only international accreditation exclusively focused on the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.

Cathedral of Seville

The Cathedral of Seville is the third largest in the world, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its Gothic vaults and rich iconography decorate its chapels both Gothic and Renaissance. Taller de Flamenco Sevilla [Carlos V Education]

Flamenco workshop

This famous and unique neighborhood is located just two minutes from the Language School Carlos V and is connected to the city center by the famous Triana bridge. It’s old house of potters and sailors and cradle of flamenco artists. Participants will be able learn about its history, traditions, gastronomy and way of life. A unique atmosphere that vibrates with the joy of its inhabitants. The church of Santa Ana, the typical houses, the views from Betis Street and the richly decorated patios make this neighborhood a must-see for every visitor.

Taller de Cocina Sevilla [Carlos V Education]

Cooking workshop

Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Spanish culture through its delicious food. They will learn how to prepare typical dishes such as potato omelette, paella and gazpacho, while practicing vocabulary and Spanish expressions related to cooking and food. The workshop will be led by an experienced chef instructor. At the end of the session, everyone will be able to enjoy a delicious meal that they will have prepared themselves.

Tour through Plaza de España

Starting from Puerta Jerez, you can admire the regionalist architecture of the Hotel Alfonso XIII before arriving at the University of Seville, the former Tobacco Factory. Then it will be the turn of the Plaza de España, built in 1929 for the Iberoamericana Exposition, an impressive place that should not be missed on a trip to Seville. It will end with a visit to the María Luisa Park, a perfect place for a walk.

Kayak ride

The objective of this activity is to enjoy the city from a new perspective. First, there will be a brief explanation on how to pedal and steer the kayak and, later, take a tour where part of the history of Seville and the Golden Age of Spanish navigation will be explained, the circumnavigation of Magellan and Elcano and the voyage to America. A pleasant and refreshing activity for the summer. There will also be group games.

Visit to the Archive of the Indias

The Archive of the Indias was created in 1785 at the request of King Juan Carlos III, with the aim of centralizing in a single place the documentation relating to the administration of the Spanish overseas territories until then dispersed in various archives, located in Simancas, Cadiz and Seville. This documentary treasure is a historical place and emblematic of Seville.

Visit to the Torre del Oro

The Torre del Oro is an Arab tower located on the banks of the Guadalquivir, next to the Bullring Plaza of the Real Maestranza. Possibly its name refers to its golden shine that was reflected on the river. 

Its main function was to close the passage to the sandy area from the river, forming a wall along with its neighbour Torre de la Plata, thus defendin the Alcázar palace. Inside it you will visit the Naval Museum, inaugurated in 1944 and divided into two floors of small dimensions.

Excursion to Italica

On this half-day excursion you will visit the Roman city of Italica, cradle of the emperors Hadrian and Trajan, founded in 206 BC by General Publius Cornelius Scipio. The visit includes about 50 private houses and 6 public buildings, among others, and the very well preserved amphitheater.

During the visit, you will be able to see the remains of buildings characteristic of the Roman period, mosaics, schools, drainage systems, thermal baths and amphitheaters, among others.

Pottery Workshop

In this workshop the history of the tile is explained based on a historical introduction of ceramics and a demonstration of the techniques that have been used since the Middle Ages. The objective of the workshop is to decorate a tile with glazes and different techniques. The tiles will be picked up the next day, after they have gone through the oven to dry. The participants will be able to take their tiles home, made by themselves. It’s a workshop that is fun and dynamic where you can learn one of the oldest and most important traditions of Seville.

Casa de Pilatos visit

The Casa de Pilatos, declared a national monument in 1931, presents a mix of Gothic and Mudejar styles from the late Middle Ages, as well as novelties from the Renaissance, whose implementation in Seville occurred thanks to the close relationship of the Enríquez family of Ribera with Italy.

Today, visitors can marvel at one of the most imposing and beautiful private residences of the city: the House of Pilatos stands like a palace that captivates anyone with its splendor and charm, representing a living testimony of an era and a place where everyone would like to reside.

Historical center tour

On this tour you will visit the historic centre of Seville, which houses medieval and renaissance buildings, such as the Cathedral of Seville (Gothic style) and the Real Alcázar (dating back to the Muslim period and became a Christian palace).

Excursion to Cordoba

Cordoba is an ancient Roman city and one of the most important Islamic centers of Andalusia. Its mosque was declared World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1984 and its historic center was included a few years later. One of its most outstanding festivities, “Los Patios de Córdoba”, has been on the list of intangible cultural-historical heritage since 2012. This tour includes a guided visit of the Mosque and of the Jewish quarter, accompanied by an official guide.
