One more year, for the days of May (“I am happy with my people”, continues the Sevillian), the pilgrims of El Rocío head to the village to accompany the Virgin on Pentecost Sunday. Thousands of people make the Camino to meet the Blanca Paloma as a symbol of faith and Spanish cultural tradition, and at Idiomas Carlos V we wanted to accompany them with a floral offering.
The Brotherhood of El Rocío of Seville pilgrimage to the village of El Rocío from the Church of El Salvador. It is composed of thousands of people who accompany on foot the Simpecado of the Brotherhood that pulled by oxen, travels different streets from the center of Seville to the Almonteña goal. One of those streets is precisely the República Argentina Avenue, where the Carlos V Language School of Seville is located, and as it is already a tradition, our general director, Yolanda Romero; made a wreath to the Simpecado as a sign of respect and faith.
In pictures, the floral offering to the Hermandad del Rocío of Seville as it passes through Idiomas Carlos V.
Yolanda was accompanied during the floral offering by our colleague Carmelo López, head of Mobility of the Summer Programs of Idiomas Carlos V and the school groups that travel with us to Manchester, London, Dublin or Chichester to improve their level of English.
The procession of the brotherhood in front of Idiomas Carlos V Seville was watched by hundreds of people, including many students who came out to the balcony of the school to see the procession. Men dressed in short dresses, women dressed as gypsies, pilgrims on foot, on horseback or in carriages pulled by oxen… everything attracted the attention of young people from Italy, Morocco, Czech Republic or Poland, who in this way got to know a little more about Spain and our traditions, and who will surely share their amazement when they return home.
