Academic Load
The expert course has an academic load of 25 ECTS endorsed by the Universidad Europea del Atlántico, ensuring a complete and rigorous training that combines theory, practice and continuous evaluation. The course load for students is 250 hours of classroom training and 375 hours of independent work.
Who is this course for?
- University graduates, preferably in the area of humanities, who wish to teach Spanish as a foreign language.
- Spanish teachers, for active foreigners who want to update their methodology and are interested in continuous improvement in the field of teaching.
Essential requirements for access to the course
- In order to access these Expert studies, it is necessary to hold an official university degree or to have completed three years of university degrees. In the case of graduates from other countries, it must be verified that the degree provided is equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish degree and that it entitles the holder to access postgraduate studies in the issuing country.
- The admission body will be the Academic Committee of these Expert studies, formed by staff of the European University of the Atlantic. The Academic Committee will be responsible for establishing the scale to evaluate the adequacy of the academic record and the accredited professional career of the applicants. The University will analyze each case and will agree on the adoption of the access or, on the contrary, the denial of the same.
- Candidates whose mother tongue is not Spanish must prove their knowledge of the language by means of an official qualification of at least C1 level of Spanish.

Module 8: Teaching practice and evaluation (80h)
- The course offers teaching internships in Spain and the possibility of carrying them out in other countries, allowing students to apply the knowledge acquired in real and diverse contexts. These internships can be carried out in Spanish teaching centers, including our own centers and other schools, universities, language academies and international educational institutions that offer Spanish as a foreign language programs. The activity consists of classroom observation through the assignment of a tutor to guide the participant (a teacher with teaching experience and who meets the characteristics of experience and training to tutor students).
Academic Calendar
The course is offered in two periods throughout the academic year, with two starting dates: one in September, which runs through February, and another in January, which ends in June. This structure allows students to choose the time that best suits their schedule, providing flexibility and continuous learning opportunities throughout the year. The date of the internship will be agreed with the center after the end of the course.
